ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a condition called neurovascular uncoupling (NVU), which can affect how we see brain activity in patients with brain lesions like glioblastoma, glioma, or astrocytoma. The researchers want to understand how NVU happens and how it might influence brain imaging results. They will use advanced imaging techniques that are non-invasive, meaning they don't require surgery, to look at how blood flow and glucose metabolism in the brain are connected in patients who are preparing for surgery to remove their brain lesions.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to have a brain lesion that can potentially be surgically removed and must be enrolled before starting any treatment like chemotherapy or radiation. However, those who have had previous brain surgery, certain breathing issues, asthma, claustrophobia, or diabetes are not eligible. Participants can expect to undergo various imaging tests, which will help the researchers gain insights into brain function and improve future treatments for brain lesions. This trial is currently recruiting patients aged 18 and older, and both men and women can participate.
