ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how a special treatment called targeted fluid therapy may help prevent problems with thinking and memory after heart surgery, known as postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD). POCD can affect many patients after cardiac surgery, leading to difficulties with memory and thinking clearly. The goal of this study is to see if carefully managing the fluids and medications given during surgery can improve blood flow to the brain and reduce inflammation, which may help patients recover better and avoid complications.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults who are scheduled to have coronary artery bypass surgery. However, individuals with certain conditions, such as mental health disorders, severe kidney problems, or those taking specific medications that affect brain function, won't be able to join. Participants in this study will have their fluid treatment closely monitored during surgery to see if it makes a difference in their recovery. Overall, the trial aims to find ways to improve outcomes for patients undergoing heart surgery.
