ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a special three-dimensional video of a lemon can help patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) feel less thirsty and uncomfortable after colorectal surgery. The study will involve 70 volunteers who are between 18 and 65 years old and have just had this type of surgery. They will be divided into two groups: one group will watch the lemon video using virtual reality glasses, while the other group will receive standard care without the video.
To participate, patients need to be awake, able to communicate, and not have any serious vision or hearing problems. They also should not be on a ventilator or have any significant medical issues like kidney failure. The researchers will carefully gather information on how each patient feels about their thirst and discomfort during the study. This trial aims to see if the video can make a positive difference in how patients experience thirst in the ICU.
