ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Metacognitive Beliefs in Obese Patients," is exploring how certain thoughts and beliefs about thinking (called metacognitive beliefs) might be related to emotions and eating habits in people with obesity. The goal is to understand if these beliefs influence how people manage their emotions and engage in emotional eating, which is when someone eats in response to their feelings rather than hunger.
To participate in the study, individuals need to be between 18 and 65 years old, have an Italian nationality, and have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 35 or higher, indicating obesity. However, those with serious mental health issues or significant cognitive problems that might hinder their ability to complete surveys cannot join. Participants can expect to fill out questionnaires that will help researchers gather information about their thoughts, feelings, and eating behaviors. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to shed light on important connections that could improve support for individuals struggling with obesity.
