ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is designed to help caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias become more active by encouraging them to walk regularly—specifically aiming for over 250 steps every hour. The study will last for 12 weeks and will use personalized text messages to support caregivers in developing a habit of walking more frequently. The main goal is to see if this approach can help at least half of the caregivers involved in the study successfully make walking a regular part of their day.
To participate, caregivers must be between the ages of 18 and 85, either formally or informally caring for someone with Alzheimer's or related conditions, and report low levels of physical activity. They should also be comfortable communicating in English or Spanish and have access to a smartphone and email. Participants in the trial can expect to receive supportive messages that guide them in increasing their walking habits, helping them to improve their own health while caring for others. If you are interested and meet the criteria, this could be a great opportunity to enhance your well-being as a caregiver!
