ClinConnect Summary
The Nutrition OUtReach In Systems of Healthcare trial is studying how providing food support to patients can help improve their health during important medical treatments like stem cell transplants and CAR-T cell therapy. Many patients face challenges affording groceries, which can lead to food insecurity—meaning they don’t have enough nutritious food to eat. This study aims to find out if giving patients bags of food at their clinic visits can help them eat better, lower their overall costs, and improve their recovery outcomes after treatment.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 8 and 80 years old and planning to receive a stem cell transplant or cell therapy. You should also be experiencing food insecurity, which means you have worried about running out of food or not having enough money for groceries in the past year. Participants will receive support in the form of food bags during their clinic visits. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it's a great opportunity for those who might benefit from additional nutritional support during their treatment.
