Laparoscopy V Notes Lateral Suspension Pelvic Organ Prolapse

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying two different surgical techniques for treating pelvic organ prolapse, a condition where pelvic organs drop from their normal position. The trial compares a method called laparoscopic lateral suspension with another called V-NOTES lateral suspension, both using a specific technique developed by a doctor named Salman Ketenci Gencer. The goal is to see which method leads to better early recovery outcomes for patients.

To participate in this trial, women aged 27 to 74 years who are sexually active and experiencing stage 3 or 4 pelvic organ prolapse may be eligible. However, individuals with certain conditions, such as cervical problems, past surgeries related to the cervix, significant obesity, or any signs of pregnancy, cannot join. If you choose to participate, you can expect to undergo one of the two surgical techniques and be monitored for your recovery in the weeks following the procedure. This research aims to improve treatment options and outcomes for women dealing with pelvic organ prolapse.
