ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how ultrasound can be used to look at the stomach in pregnant women who are at higher risk for complications during anesthesia. Specifically, it aims to see how the stomach looks when these women are fasting, which is important because pregnant women often need surgery without having fasted properly. By examining the stomach's size and content, doctors hope to better understand the risk of inhaling stomach contents during surgery, a situation that can lead to serious problems.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be pregnant women who are at least 28 weeks along in their pregnancy and are over 18 years old. They should be admitted to a hospital due to high-risk pregnancy concerns and be able to understand the study details and provide consent. Participants will undergo an ultrasound to assess their stomach and will help researchers gather important information that could improve care for pregnant women undergoing surgery in the future.
