ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how a video tool can help improve conversations about end-of-life care for older adults who have experienced a traumatic injury. The goal is to see if this video can make discussions about care preferences more effective and supportive for patients and their families. The study is currently looking for participants who are 18 years or older, speak either English or Spanish, and have been admitted to a medical facility after a trauma.
To participate, individuals cannot be in prison, must not have a do-not-resuscitate (DNR) or do-not-intubate (DNI) order in place, and should not be on hospice care or expected to survive less than 24-48 hours. If eligible, participants will have the opportunity to watch the video and provide feedback on how helpful it was in discussing their care options. This is an important step toward ensuring that patients' wishes are respected during critical moments in their healthcare journey.
