ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether a music-based therapy that can be done at home helps people recover from the effects of a stroke. Researchers want to find out if this music therapy can improve thinking, speaking, movement, and emotional health for those who have had a stroke. They will compare the effects of this music therapy, provided five times a week over ten weeks, to standard care that stroke patients usually receive. Participants will undergo tests and brain scans at three different times to see how well they are doing before, immediately after, and three months after the therapy.
To join this study, participants must be between 30 and 80 years old, have had a stroke 3 to 12 months ago affecting either side of the brain, and have mild issues with thinking or speaking. They should also be able to understand Finnish or be bilingual. However, individuals with serious hearing or vision problems, severe mental health issues, or significant previous brain injuries cannot take part in this trial. It’s a great opportunity for those eligible to explore a new way to support their recovery after a stroke.
