ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how people feel after having surgery for a type of thyroid cancer called low-risk papillary thyroid cancer. Specifically, it will study feelings of regret that some patients may experience after their thyroid surgery. The trial is set to start in May 2025 and will run until June 2027. To participate, you must be between 18 and 90 years old, speak Chinese, and have had thyroid surgery without any lymph node spread of cancer. You should also be able to fill out questionnaires and use a mobile phone or the internet. If you have other health issues or a history of mental health problems, you won’t be eligible for this study.
Participants will receive follow-up care online, where doctors will check in with them and ask about their feelings of regret using a specific scale. If a patient shows high levels of regret, the doctors will reach out to provide additional support. The aim is to understand the emotional experiences of patients after surgery and to see how best to help them cope. Overall, this study hopes to improve the care and support given to patients recovering from thyroid surgery.
