ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how virtual reality (VR) glasses can help reduce pain and anxiety, and improve comfort for patients undergoing a procedure called Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL). This procedure is used to treat kidney stones by breaking them up using sound waves. Researchers want to see if using VR glasses during the procedure can make the experience better for patients.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and be having ESWL for the first time. It's important that you don’t have any vision or hearing issues and that you haven't taken any pain-relieving or anxiety-reducing medications before the procedure. If you join the study, you will wear VR glasses during your treatment to see if this helps with pain and anxiety. The trial is currently looking for volunteers, and this could be a great opportunity to help improve care for future patients undergoing this procedure.
