ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how common Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is in patients who have Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) in their lower limbs. DVT is a condition where blood clots form in the veins, and it can happen without a clear reason (unprovoked) or for specific reasons like surgery or cancer (provoked). The study will compare patients with unprovoked DVT to those with provoked DVT or DVT related to cancer, and it will also check how certain tests (Ankle-Brachial Index and Carotid Intima-Media Thickness) relate to each group.

To participate, you need to be over 18 years old and have a diagnosis of DVT in your lower limbs, which was confirmed by an ultrasound in the last six months. The trial is currently recruiting patients and will take place at the Sant'Orsola Malpighi Polyclinic in Bologna, Italy. You can expect to be followed regularly, and the study aims to finish by the end of 2027. If you have any questions or think you might be eligible, it's a great idea to talk to your healthcare provider for more information.
