ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a special program led by pharmacists can help people with Type II diabetes manage their medication better and improve their overall quality of life. The study will involve two groups of participants: one group will receive regular counseling and educational materials during their visits to the pharmacy, while the other group will receive additional cognitive behavioral support to help them change their habits and attitudes about their medication. Researchers will compare the outcomes of both groups to see which approach works better.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be adults with Type II diabetes who visit the endocrinology outpatient department and have a specific blood sugar level (HbA1c greater than 8%). This means that both new and returning patients who are open to participating, even if they have other health issues, may join. However, those with gestational diabetes, Type I diabetes, or a HbA1c level below 8% will not be included. If you choose to participate, you can expect to receive helpful advice and resources during your pharmacy visits, which may make managing your diabetes easier and enhance your daily life.
