ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how movement and physical activity can help people with a condition called axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), which causes chronic pain and stiffness in the back. The researchers want to understand what types of movement, how often, and how intensely people should exercise to manage their symptoms better and improve their quality of life. Participants in this study will wear smartwatches that track their daily movements and heart rates, and they will answer surveys every two weeks about their pain and overall well-being. By the end of the study, the goal is to provide clear recommendations on physical activity that could help prevent flare-ups and aid recovery.
To be eligible for this trial, you need to have been diagnosed with axial spondyloarthritis, own an iPhone (since the study uses a specific app), and be willing to wear a smartwatch and complete surveys at home. The study is open to both men and women aged between 65 and 74. Participants will visit the clinic every three months for check-ups, and all data collected will help the researchers develop tailored movement recommendations for individuals with this condition. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to new findings that could benefit many people living with axial spondyloarthritis.
