ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of acupuncture combined with standard medical care on patients who have recently undergone brain surgery (known as craniotomy) and are on a breathing machine (mechanical ventilation). The goal is to see if adding acupuncture can help improve blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels while also reducing pain. Researchers will compare two groups: one receiving acupuncture along with standard care and another group receiving only the standard care. They will check the patients' health and comfort after three days of treatment to see if acupuncture makes a difference.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have had a craniotomy for a vascular issue. You should be awake and alert before the surgery and on a specific type of breathing support. However, some people may not be eligible, such as those with certain neurological diseases, lung cancer, or bleeding disorders. If you join the study, you'll receive acupuncture for three days, and researchers will track your progress to learn more about how this therapy could help patients like you.
