ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a method called Transversus Abdominis Plane (TAP) block to see if it can help reduce pain for patients with acute appendicitis who need emergency surgery. The TAP block is a type of pain relief technique that involves injecting medication into a specific area of the abdomen before surgery. The goal of the study is to find out if this approach can make patients feel more comfortable and manage their pain better while they await surgery.
To participate in this trial, patients must be at least 18 years old and have been diagnosed with acute appendicitis, confirmed through tests like ultrasound or a CT scan. They should also be scheduled for surgery and able to give written consent to join the study. However, certain people are not eligible, including those with allergies to local anesthetics, specific medical conditions, or those who are pregnant. Participants can expect to receive pain management through the TAP block method and will help researchers learn more about how to improve care for patients with acute appendicitis in emergency situations.
