ClinConnect Summary
The "Putting Children First" trial is a study designed to help parents who are going through a divorce or separation and are experiencing high levels of conflict. The trial will look at whether a special training program for parents can improve their parenting skills and strengthen their relationships with their children. Over 17 weeks, 250 parent pairs (both mothers and fathers) will be divided into two groups: one group will continue with regular support, while the other group will receive additional training called BAU+PCF. This extra support aims to boost parents’ confidence, lower their stress, and improve their interactions with their children, ultimately helping children feel less stressed and behave better.
To participate in the trial, parents must have recently gone through a divorce or separation, have children aged 4 to 12, and both parents need to be willing to take part together. The study is not yet recruiting participants, but it will focus on families identified by the court system as experiencing high conflict during their parenting. This trial is important because it seeks to find effective ways to support families during challenging times, ensuring that children's well-being is prioritized.
