ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how the temperature of food (hot or cold) affects appetite and energy intake when people are exposed to different temperatures, like hot or cold environments. The researchers believe that serving food at the right temperature can help ensure that active individuals, like military personnel and athletes, get enough energy to perform well, especially during intense training or missions. The study will involve 40 healthy adults who are physically active. They will participate in three sessions in different temperature conditions (cold, neutral, and warm) and will be divided into two groups, each receiving either cold or warm meals.
To be eligible for the study, participants should be active (exercising more than three hours a week), usually eat breakfast, and be between 18 and 40 years old. Those with irregular eating habits, specific dietary restrictions, or certain health conditions may not qualify. During the trial, participants will experience controlled environments where they will eat a large meal after a set period of time, and their appetite and energy levels will be closely monitored. This research aims to better understand how temperature affects food intake, which could help improve dietary strategies for high-energy-demand populations.
