ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different surgical techniques for repairing a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) affect recovery and knee function. Specifically, researchers want to compare the results of two methods: the standard ACL reconstruction surgery and a new technique that also includes a reconstruction of the Anterolateral Ligament (ALL). The goal is to see which method provides better knee stability, strength, and overall function after patients complete up to nine months of physical therapy.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be between 18 and 50 years old, have a diagnosed ACL injury on one knee, and live in Londrina, Brazil. Both active individuals and athletes can join, but those with certain health issues or previous knee surgeries will not be eligible. Participants can expect to have surgery and then follow a rehabilitation program designed to help them regain strength and stability in their knee. This study is important because it may help determine the best surgical approach for ACL injuries, which could improve recovery outcomes for many patients in the future.
