ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how bones contribute to the levels of citrate in urine, particularly in patients with osteoporosis. Citrate is a substance that helps maintain bone health, and understanding its connection to bone could lead to new ways to treat conditions related to mineral metabolism. The trial will involve 20 participants who have osteoporosis and have not yet received any treatment. Researchers will look at how changes in bone health and activity relate to urine citrate levels after giving participants a citrate supplement.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between 65 and 74 years old and have osteoporosis that has not been treated before. They cannot have certain health issues, like kidney problems or chronic gastrointestinal illnesses. If you join the study, you can expect to have your bone health measured at the start and after a few months, while receiving treatments that help strengthen bones. This research may help develop better treatments for osteoporosis in the future.
