ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving how people with venous ulcers stick to their treatment, specifically through compression therapy. Compression therapy is a treatment that helps reduce swelling and pain by applying pressure to the legs. Unfortunately, many patients have trouble following this treatment due to various reasons, including not understanding how it works or feeling self-conscious about wearing compression garments. The study aims to test an educational program designed to help patients better understand their condition and the importance of following their prescribed treatment, which is essential for healing.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be adults with a grade 2 venous ulcer and be able to understand Spanish. Those with less severe ulcers, cognitive impairments, or specific other health conditions, such as cancer, will not be included. Participants can expect to receive education and support to help them manage their symptoms and improve their adherence to compression therapy. The trial is currently recruiting participants in Hualpen, Chile, and will take place throughout 2024, aiming to evaluate how well this educational intervention works in enhancing treatment adherence and improving overall health outcomes for those with venous ulcers.
