ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well children with cystic fibrosis (CF) can use their muscles, especially the muscles involved in breathing and those in the core and legs. CF is a genetic condition that causes thick mucus to build up in the lungs and other organs, leading to breathing difficulties and other health issues. The researchers want to compare the muscle strength and endurance of children with CF to that of healthy children, helping to understand how CF affects physical fitness and overall quality of life.
To participate in this study, children aged 6 to 18 with a confirmed diagnosis of CF and good lung function (measured by a test called FEV1) are eligible. Healthy children in the same age range can also join. Participants will undergo simple tests to measure their muscle strength and endurance. It's important to note that those with certain health issues or recent respiratory infections won't be able to take part. This study aims to gather valuable information that could help improve care for children with CF in the future.
