ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a type of therapy called Eastern Principles Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (EPACT) to see how effective it is in preventing work-related injuries and improving well-being among nurses and nursing aides. The trial compares EPACT to a traditional Western therapy approach and a group that receives no treatment at all. Participants will be nurses and nursing aides working in long-term care facilities in the USA and Thailand. The study aims to understand how these therapies can reduce work stress, burnout, and pain, as well as identify factors that might help predict how well participants respond to the therapies.

To participate, individuals must be at least 18 years old and employed as a nurse or nursing aide in specific locations in Ohio or Thailand. Participants will complete surveys about their work-related experiences and well-being and attend a couple of therapy sessions if they are in the treatment groups. After the sessions, they will receive follow-up surveys to track their progress. This research is important because it seeks to create a culturally sensitive approach that combines both Eastern and Western mindfulness practices to help reduce injuries and improve the overall health of nursing staff.
