ClinConnect Summary
The PREduKiné trial is studying how physiotherapy can help men recover after surgery for prostate cancer, specifically after a procedure called a radical prostatectomy. This type of surgery, which removes the prostate gland and some surrounding tissue, is quite common in France, with about 20,000 surgeries performed each year. While this surgery can be life-saving, it can also lead to issues like urinary incontinence and reduced quality of life. The goal of the trial is to evaluate different rehabilitation techniques used by physiotherapists to see how effective they are in improving recovery outcomes for patients.
To participate in this study, eligible men must have recently undergone a radical prostatectomy to treat prostate cancer and be attending a follow-up appointment between one to two months after the surgery. Participants should be able to answer questions during interviews and must agree to join the study by signing a consent form. However, those receiving additional treatments like chemotherapy or radiation therapy will not be included. The trial is not yet recruiting, but it aims to better understand how rehabilitation can support men in their recovery after prostate cancer surgery.
