ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new type of ureteric stent designed for patients with kidney stones or certain cancers that may block the ureters. Ureteric stents are small tubes that help urine flow from the kidneys to the bladder, but traditional stents can cause pain, infections, and other problems. The goal of this trial is to see if the new stent reduces these issues, leading to less pain and better quality of life for patients. Researchers believe that fewer hospital visits and reduced infections could help older adults regain their independence and contribute to healthier aging.
To participate, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a medical reason for needing a stent, such as kidney stones or cancer. You should also have experience with stents and be able to understand and complete study documents in English. If you have a serious health condition that might affect your ability to participate, or if you are pregnant, you may not be eligible. If you decide to join, you can expect to be closely monitored throughout the study to see how well the new stent works for you.
