ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying complications that can occur in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), which is where patients go to recover after surgery. Despite improvements in anesthesia techniques, problems can still happen during recovery, especially in countries like Ethiopia where healthcare resources may be limited. The goal of this study is to find out how common these complications are and what factors might contribute to them.
To participate in this study, patients must be admitted to the PACU after undergoing surgery with general, regional, or monitored anesthesia. However, those who are taken directly to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), discharged, or transferred right after surgery will not be included. The study will take place from February 15 to June 30, 2025, in three hospitals in Ethiopia, and the findings will also be compared to data from a hospital in Spain. Participants can expect to have their recovery monitored and their experiences documented to help improve care in the future.
