ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new surgical technique called laparoscopic lateral suspension (LLS) to treat pelvic floor disorders, specifically focusing on correcting a condition known as anterior apical vaginal prolapse. This technique uses a mesh to help support the affected area, and the researchers are looking to see if it can provide similar or better results compared to traditional surgery while reducing complications. The trial is currently recruiting female participants aged 65 to 74 who have moderate to severe prolapse issues, but not those who have had previous surgeries for the same condition.

If you qualify and choose to participate, you can expect to undergo a minimally invasive procedure, which means smaller cuts and potentially less recovery time than traditional surgery. Participants will be closely monitored throughout the study to assess the effectiveness of the LLS technique. However, if you've had previous surgeries for prolapse or prefer vaginal surgery, this study may not be the right fit for you. It's a great opportunity to contribute to research that could improve treatments for pelvic floor disorders in the future.
