ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new scoring system designed to predict how difficult it might be for doctors to place a breathing tube (intubation) during surgery. The goal is to combine regular physical tests and special ultrasound measurements to create a more accurate way to assess patients' airways. This scoring system will be tested on a large group of adult patients who are scheduled to undergo general anesthesia, which means they will be put to sleep for their procedures.
To participate in this trial, patients need to be adults classified as ASA 1-4, which indicates their overall health status, and they can be having either emergency or planned surgeries. However, some patients will not be eligible if they have a history of difficult airways, certain injuries, specific medical conditions, or are pregnant. Participants can expect to undergo some routine assessments as well as ultrasound tests to help gather data for this study. The findings from this trial could ultimately improve how doctors prepare for surgeries that require intubation, making the process safer for patients.
