ClinConnect Summary
The HealthyW8_65+ Pilot study is looking to help men and women aged 65 and older who are at risk of obesity. Over three months, participants will use a smartphone app called the HLRS, which is designed to support healthier living by improving diet and physical activity. The main goal of the study is to see if older adults find the app easy to use and if they stick with it regularly. Researchers will also gather information on how well this approach works for making healthier lifestyle changes, even if it's just for a short time.
To participate in this study, individuals must be at least 65 years old, live in Luxembourg, be overweight (with a BMI between 25 and 30), and own a smartphone. Unfortunately, those with serious health conditions, cognitive impairments, or who are on strict diets won't be eligible. Participants can expect to track their habits and health markers throughout the study, helping researchers understand how to better support older adults in preventing obesity. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to future health strategies for older adults!
