ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new method for treating bile duct diseases, such as gallstones and strictures, in patients who cannot undergo traditional endoscopic treatments. The trial is testing a technique that uses a special mini-endoscope called the SpyGlass system to see inside the bile ducts and potentially perform treatments or take biopsies more quickly than standard methods. The goal is to find out if this new approach can help resolve problems like gallstones more efficiently.
To participate, individuals must be over 18 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis of gallstones or bile duct narrowing that cannot be treated with standard endoscopic methods. They should also have good liver function and be able to provide informed consent. Participants will receive treatment at the Bologna University Hospital, where they will experience this innovative procedure. It is important to note that people with certain severe bleeding disorders will not be eligible for the trial.
