ClinConnect Summary
The "Let's Talk Tech" trial is studying a new tool designed to help families make decisions about using technology to support people with memory difficulties, like those with mild dementia or mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The goal is to see if this tool can help families feel more prepared and confident when choosing technologies that can assist in caring for their loved ones at home. Participants will either use the "Let's Talk Tech" web application with a support person or receive usual care without any intervention. They will also complete three surveys over a few months to share their experiences and feelings about the tool.
To take part in this study, participants must be 55 or older and have mild dementia or MCI. They also need to understand and speak English. The support person, known as the co-participant, must be at least 18 years old and is someone the patient identifies as their primary support. There are no specific health exclusions for this trial. If you or a loved one fit these criteria, you could play an important role in helping researchers understand how to improve decision-making about technology in caregiving.
