ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at whether playing music can help reduce agitation in patients recovering from electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for severe depression. ECT is a treatment that can help people with serious depression, and sometimes patients may feel restless or agitated afterward. The researchers want to see if listening to music during the treatment can make this recovery period more comfortable.
To be part of this study, you need to be an adult (18 years or older) who is receiving ECT for depression, including cases related to bipolar disorder. You should also be able to understand Dutch and provide written consent to join the trial. However, people with major hearing problems, certain severe neurological conditions, or those receiving ECT for schizophrenia won't be eligible. If you participate, you can expect to listen to music during your treatment and help the researchers learn more about the benefits of music in this setting.
