ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Effects of tDCS on Motor Cortex During ACL Recovery," is looking into how a treatment called transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) combined with exercise can help improve recovery for patients who have undergone surgery for a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). This injury is common among active young people, and the goal of the study is to see if these techniques can enhance muscle control and overall rehabilitation after surgery.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 16 and 40 years old and have a complete ACL tear confirmed by a doctor and MRI scan. You should have already had surgery to fix the ACL and be active enough to score a 4 or higher on the Tegner activity scale, which measures physical activity levels. However, if you've had other serious injuries in your legs, certain medical conditions, or recent concussions, you may not be eligible. If you join the trial, you will receive treatment and exercises designed to support your recovery, and you'll be part of important research that could help others with similar injuries in the future.
