ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to better predict which laparoscopic appendectomies (a minimally invasive surgery to remove the appendix) might be more difficult. The goal is to identify certain factors before surgery that could indicate potential challenges, based on the experience of surgical trainees. By doing this, the researchers hope to create a helpful tool, called a nomogram, that can guide doctors in preparing for surgery and ensuring the best care for patients.
If you are experiencing acute appendicitis (a painful condition caused by inflammation of the appendix) and are scheduled for a laparoscopic appendectomy, you may be eligible to participate in this study. To join, you need to have a clinical diagnosis of appendicitis and be willing to undergo the surgery. However, if you cannot tolerate the procedure or if key preoperative information is missing, you may not be able to take part. Participants in the trial can expect close monitoring and the opportunity to contribute to important research that could improve surgical outcomes for future patients.
