ClinConnect Summary
The SEED trial is studying how mindfulness training for teachers can help improve the social, emotional, and ethical development of young children in kindergartens. The goal is to see if teaching teachers mindfulness techniques will make it easier for them to deliver a special curriculum designed to boost children's well-being. The study will involve at least four kindergartens, where half of the teachers and their students will participate in the training and lessons for 12 weeks, while the other half will be on a waitlist to compare results.
To be eligible for this trial, children must be between 3 and 7 years old, and both parents and teachers must be 18 or older, all speaking and understanding Cantonese. Participants can expect teachers to learn 8 mindfulness exercises, which they will use in their daily classes, along with a weekly 30-minute lesson for the children. Parents and children will complete surveys before and after the program to measure any changes. This study aims to create a more supportive and nurturing environment for young learners.
