ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a specific problem related to total knee replacements, known as aseptic mobilization. This occurs when the knee prosthesis (the artificial joint) becomes loose over time without any infection being present. It's a common reason why some patients need further surgery, especially as more people are getting knee replacements due to longer life expectancies. The study aims to understand the causes of this loosening and its economic impact on the healthcare system in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy. By analyzing X-rays and patient data, the researchers hope to identify ways to improve the situation.
To participate in this trial, patients must be at least 18 years old and have undergone a knee prosthesis revision due to aseptic mobilization. They should also have been followed up for at least two years and be willing to take part in the study. Participants can expect to contribute to important research that could help improve knee replacement surgeries and outcomes for future patients. This study is currently recruiting participants of all genders, and it's a great opportunity to help address a significant medical issue.
