ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a treatment called Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) can help reduce pain and improve comfort for patients experiencing bladder tenesmus after urinary surgery. Bladder tenesmus is a condition where patients feel the urge to urinate even though they have just done so, often caused by issues like bladder spasms or discomfort from urinary catheters used during surgery. The trial aims to see if TENS, which uses low-voltage electrical currents to relieve pain, can be effective in helping patients feel more comfortable in the days following their surgery.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for a specific type of surgery involving your bladder or prostate. You should also be generally healthy, as determined by a score that assesses your physical status. However, if you are having emergency surgery or have certain medical conditions, you may not be eligible. If you decide to take part, you can expect to receive TENS treatment after your surgery to see if it helps with pain and discomfort related to bladder tenesmus. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it could provide valuable information about managing post-surgery pain for future patients.
