ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how orthodontic treatment, like braces, affects the bacteria in the mouth and the proteins found in saliva in children and teenagers aged 8 to 18. The research will take place at Stomatology Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University from March 2025 to March 2027. Before starting treatment, participants will have some routine check-ups, sign consent forms, and complete questionnaires about their oral health and feelings about their dental care. Throughout the treatment, researchers will collect samples of plaque and saliva at regular intervals to see how the mouth’s bacteria change.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must not have any dental cavities or missing teeth, and they should not have a history of dental treatments or specific health conditions. They also need to be able to attend follow-up appointments regularly. This study aims to gather valuable information that can help improve oral health during orthodontic treatment, so if you or your child meet the criteria, it could be a great opportunity to contribute to important research while receiving orthodontic care.
