ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how using ultrasound can help detect lung problems, like atelectasis (a condition where part of the lung collapses), after patients have surgery. Specifically, it focuses on patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is a minimally invasive surgery to remove the gallbladder. By using ultrasound right after surgery, doctors hope to identify any breathing issues early on and provide necessary treatments, such as oxygen support or breathing exercises, to prevent further complications.
To participate in this trial, patients need to meet certain criteria. They must be between the ages of 65 and 74, be scheduled for laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, and have a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 35. Patients with severe lung disease, those who are pregnant, or anyone needing emergency surgery will not be eligible. While the study is not yet recruiting participants, it aims to improve patient care during and after surgery by contributing valuable information to the medical community.
