ClinConnect Summary
The "CATCH My Breath" trial is studying whether a special program can help high school students in Ontario, Canada, avoid starting to vape. Vaping, or using e-cigarettes, has become very popular among young people, and many who try it may become addicted. The program, called CATCH My Breath, includes two lessons that teach students about the risks of vaping, how to recognize misleading media messages, and how to say no to vaping.
To participate, students must be enrolled in one of the selected public or private high schools in Ontario that are teaching the program. They will complete online surveys before starting the lessons, and again three months and twelve months later, to see if the program helps them avoid vaping. The goal is to find out if this prevention program can be a helpful tool in reducing vaping among students. If it proves effective, schools across Canada could adopt it to protect youth from the dangers of vaping.
