ClinConnect Summary
The Unidos Contra El VPH trial is a study designed to explore new ways for women to check for cervical cancer from the comfort of their homes. Normally, cervical cancer screening involves visiting a healthcare provider for a Pap smear and an HPV test, which can be challenging for some people. This study is looking at three different methods to see which one is easiest and most effective: taking a urine sample at home, using a vaginal swab at home, or going to the clinic for a traditional Pap smear and HPV test.
Women aged 30 to 65 who have not had a Pap test in the last three years may be eligible to participate. If you join the study, you will be randomly assigned to one of the three methods and will receive specific instructions on how to collect your samples. You'll also complete a couple of surveys to share your thoughts about these screening options. The goal is to make cervical cancer screening more accessible and comfortable for everyone, especially for those who have difficulty getting to a clinic.
