ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how a special type of conversation called "motivational interviewing" can help people with diabetes better manage their condition and reduce their anxiety about health information found online, a situation known as cyberchondria. The researchers are looking for individuals aged 18 or older who have been living with type 2 diabetes for at least six months and can communicate effectively. Participants will take part in weekly sessions for one month, where they will receive education and support about managing diabetes.

If you decide to join, you will complete some questionnaires before and after the month-long program to help measure how well the motivational interviewing works. This trial is currently recruiting participants at the Van Regional Training and Research Hospital Diabetes outpatient clinic, and it will run from mid-February to mid-March 2025. This is a great opportunity for those looking to improve their diabetes management skills while contributing to important research.
