ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how lying on your stomach, known as the "prone position," can help patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) breathe better. Researchers want to find out the best amount of time a patient should stay in this position to improve their lung function and reduce inflammation in the body. They are using a technique called Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) to closely monitor how well the lungs are working during and after this treatment.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be over 18 years old and diagnosed with ARDS, showing specific breathing difficulties that require mechanical ventilation. However, certain people cannot join the study, such as those with certain medical devices, a high body weight, or specific health conditions. If eligible, participants can expect to be closely observed while they try the prone position, and their progress will be monitored to help understand the most effective treatment duration. This research could lead to better care for patients experiencing severe breathing issues.
