ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how effective a special type of therapy called cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is for people who work shifts in the social and health care sector. The main goal is to see if this tailored therapy can help reduce insomnia symptoms, improve mental health, and enhance overall quality of life for these workers. Researchers will compare the effects of CBT-I, which involves six individual sessions, to a simpler intervention that provides sleep hygiene counseling in just one session.
To participate in the trial, you need to be between 18 and 65 years old, work in the social or health care sector, and have been working shifts that include night shifts at least once a month. You should also have been experiencing insomnia for at least three months, with a severity score indicating significant trouble sleeping. Participants will keep track of their sleep patterns using a diary and questionnaires at the start of the study, after 12 weeks, and again six months later. It's important to note that the therapy materials are only available in Finnish, and those with certain mental health issues or other sleep disorders may not be eligible.
