ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring a new program aimed at helping families who struggle to access healthy foods, specifically fresh fruits and vegetables. It focuses on caregivers in South Carolina who are part of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and are experiencing food insecurity. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will receive help through the fruit and vegetable incentive program, while the other group will only receive educational information about healthy eating. The goal is to see if the incentive program leads to better eating habits compared to just education alone.

To be eligible for this trial, you must be a primary caregiver aged 18 or older with a child between 2 and 10 years old, speak English, and be currently enrolled in SNAP while experiencing food insecurity. You also need to have reliable access to a phone for communication. If you join the study, you can expect to receive support to help you and your family eat more fruits and vegetables. It’s important to note that participants should not have any medical conditions that would prevent them from eating these foods or have significant allergies that affect their diet. The study is currently recruiting participants, so this could be a great opportunity to improve your family's access to healthy foods!
