ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving the management of postoperative hypothermia, which is when patients become too cold after surgery. This problem is quite common, affecting a large number of patients who undergo surgery. The researchers want to test a new care package that includes proven strategies to help prevent and manage this issue in patients recovering in the Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit. The study will take place over six months and will involve nurses in the unit who volunteer to participate.
To be eligible for this study, nurses must have worked in the Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit for at least six months. Patients who are 18 years or older and are in the first 24 hours after their surgery can also participate if they or their legal representative agree to it. During the trial, nurses will use the care package and provide feedback on its effectiveness. The researchers will collect information to see how well the care package works in keeping patients warm and comfortable after surgery. This study aims to find better ways to prevent postoperative hypothermia, which can help improve recovery for patients.
