ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how virtual reality (VR) can help reduce anxiety and fear in patients who are about to undergo abdominal surgery. Researchers want to find out if watching nature scenes through VR glasses while waiting for surgery makes patients feel calmer compared to standard nursing care. They will compare the effects of VR on patients' anxiety levels and gather feedback through questionnaires about their surgical fears.
To participate in this trial, you must be at least 18 years old and scheduled for laparoscopic abdominal surgery under general anesthesia. You'll need to be able to communicate and agree to take part in the study. However, if you wear glasses, have certain medical conditions like severe anxiety, or experience motion sickness, you may not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to relax by watching calming nature videos before your procedure, which may help ease your worries about surgery.
