ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Aquagenic Wrinkling Prediction," is looking to see if soaking hands in water for up to 20 minutes can help identify people who are carriers of cystic fibrosis (CF), a genetic condition. The study is observational, which means it will simply observe how participants' hands respond to the water soaking procedure without any treatment involved.
To participate, individuals must be between the ages of 65 and 75 and should be interested in other research related to cystic fibrosis carriers. However, those who are currently diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, unable to speak English, or have certain medical conditions like diabetes or skin issues are not eligible. During the study, participants will attend one visit where they will undergo the hand soaking procedure and see how their skin reacts. It's a straightforward process designed to help researchers learn more about this condition and improve screening methods in the future.
