Wheelchair Rear Anti Tip Device

ClinConnect Summary

The clinical trial titled "New Rear Anti-tip Device for Manual Wheelchairs: Subjective Input" aims to gather feedback from wheelchair users, caregivers, and wheelchair service providers about their experiences with traditional rear anti-tip devices on manual wheelchairs. These devices help prevent wheelchairs from tipping over backwards, and the study is exploring a new design that could be more effective. This trial is important because it seeks to understand how these devices can better meet the needs of those who use or support manual wheelchairs, particularly individuals with conditions like amputation, stroke, or spinal cord injury.

To participate in this study, individuals must be at least 18 years old, able to communicate in English, and willing to take part in scheduled activities. Wheelchair users should have experience using a manual wheelchair for at least one month, while caregivers should spend a significant amount of time assisting the wheelchair user. Participants will engage in online surveys and video demonstrations to share their insights. It's also important to note that individuals with emotional issues that could affect their participation may not be eligible. If you're interested in contributing to the development of better wheelchair safety devices, this trial could be a great opportunity!
